Township And Police Address False Rumor

It has come to the attention of the Plumsted Township Committee and the Plumsted Township PBA Local 390, that a totally baseless and fallacious rumor is circulating that Officer(s) have been arrested / charged with drug offenses. The public can be assured the rumor is totally false. No Plumsted Township police officer has been charged and / or arrested for any criminal offense. If the source of such a rumor is determined, the Township of Plumsted and / or the Plumsted Township PBA Local 390 will exercise all appropriate legal measures against such individual in this matter.

The Plumsted Township Council of the Arts will receive $1,000 and the Main Street New Egypt organization has also been awarded $1,000 for the arts programming portion of “Summer Splash’, a program aimed at enhancing the economic revitalization of downtown New Egypt. The funding will assist in offsetting expenses of the outdoor summer concerts from late May through mid-September at Oakford Lake Park.

The Township’s Leaf and Branch recycling site on Magnolia Ave. is open on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and does accept Christmas Trees that will be recycled into wood chips. Residents are being informed that, in the near future, the Saturday morning bulk waste container service site will change from a “first come – first served” to a call-in appointment schedule to eliminate the inconvenience of residents being shut out and turned away when containers are full. The Wednesday call-in appointment schedule (609-758-2241 x 199) has proven very successful and will be implemented in the near future for Saturdays as well.
